Lead generation and CRO pricing, as three passes

Fares elsewhere

Published figures for conversion work vary widely, because "CRO" covers everything from a single audit to a full testing team. Here are three we rely on, and the part of the market each one describes.

Type of engagementReported range

Convert's survey of CRO agency pricing (as reported in 2026)Top-tier agencies starting near $10,000 a month, most established firms around $16,000, premium programs near $30,000

Our passes sit within those ranges and add the lead and email work that CRO retainers often leave out. What each covers is set out on lead generation, customer acquisition, conversion optimization and marketing funnels.

What a month on each pass covers

PassWork in a typical month
Line passTracking from first click to repeat order, sign-up points and one lead offer, the welcome and abandoned cart flows, consent and deliverability checks, and a monthly leak report.
Network passAll of the Line pass, plus a conversion fix or test every month on the page or step that loses most, all five core email flows, and a monthly call to choose the next leak.
Express passAll of the Network pass for up to three funnels or brands, affiliate briefs and placement checks, and quarterly planning across them.

The first month carries more setup, mostly tracking and fixing whatever stops email reaching the inbox. After that, effort follows the leak report: the stop losing most customers gets the month's attention.

Which pass fits

The Line pass suits a store or platform with one main funnel that has never been tracked end to end, or whose emails have never been set up properly. The Network pass suits businesses with steady traffic that want monthly improvement on the pages and steps that lose most customers. The Express pass suits groups with several brands or funnels, or a partner program large enough to need its own briefs and checks.

Traffic matters too. Stores with only a few thousand visitors a month learn more from fixing obvious leaks than from split testing, and the Line pass is usually the right start for them. The free audit makes the choice clear.

Beyond the fare

  • Software such as your email platform or testing tool, which you hold in your own name.
  • Advertising spend and partner commissions, paid directly by you.
  • Design and development beyond small page changes, quoted before any work starts.
  • Legal advice on consent and privacy, which your counsel provides.

Terms, plainly

A flexible pass is invoiced monthly, and you can cancel by telling us before the next invoice date. A three, six or twelve month pass keeps its lower fare for the whole term. Either side can end a pass with thirty days' written notice. Leads collected through our work belong to you and stay in your tools. We commit to doing the agreed work well, never to a particular result. Our terms of service hold the exact wording.

Not on any pass

  • Bought, rented or scraped contact lists
  • Texts or calls without written consent
  • Promised conversion rates or revenue
  • Lead generation for businesses selling paid sexual services

Questions

01Why do CRO retainers cost what they do?
The work combines analytics, copy, design and testing. 2026 pricing guides put entry-level CRO retainers at about $2,000 to $5,000 a month and mid-tier programs at $5,000 to $15,000.
02Is the email platform included?
No. You keep your own platform and pay it directly, so the list and the data stay yours if we part ways.
03Do you charge a share of revenue?
No. A flat monthly fee keeps our advice independent of any single metric, and attribution across channels is rarely clean enough to split fairly.
04What happens after the free audit?
You get the three fixes we would make first. Many can be done without us; if you want help, we agree a pass and a start date.
05Is a pass worth it for a small store?
Often the Line pass is. Small stores rarely have the traffic for reliable split tests, but most have leaks that can be fixed without testing, such as email delivery, checkout clarity and a missing welcome sequence.
